What is the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS)?
The National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) is a national scheme that provides necessary funding and support to eligible people with intellectual, physical, sensory, cognitive and psychosocial disability.
NDIS is designed to help people get the support they need so their skills and independence improve over time.
The scheme gives all Australians peace of mind if they, their child or loved one is born with or acquires a permanent and significant disability, they will get the support they need, including Early intervention supports which can also be provided for eligible people with disability or children with developmental delay.
NDIS helps support people reach their individual goals by offering support services they need to live the life they want.
The change to the NDIS means understanding a lot of new information, and making some big choices about your future.
Participants impacted by the coronavirus (COVID-19) will be prioritised to ensure they continue to receive their disability related supports.
We provide a framework on how we work together, collaborate with others and make a positive difference to the community.
